Kākāriki Hospital is a private hospital focused on delivering exceptional patient care in a calm, modern environment. I created the branding for the hospital and went on to design a suite of printed collateral that brings consistency, clarity, and professionalism to every patient interaction.

Brand Inspiration
The Kākāriki Hospital brand draws inspiration from its namesake - the vibrant New Zealand parakeet, kākāriki, meaning ‘small green parrot’ in te reo Māori. The brandmark is a stylised interpretation of the bird, illustrated in a single continuous line to reflect the seamless, consistent care patients receive from start to finish. The brand’s green palette pays homage to the lush natural surroundings of the hospital, nearby is One Tree Hill and Cornwall Park, and right next door to the hospital stands a majestic pōhutukawa tree. Subtle topographic textures, inspired by the landscape around the hospital, add depth and a strong sense of place to printed and digital materials.
Brand Application
Kākāriki Hospital officially opened in March 2024. Located in Greenlane, Auckland, it is an elective surgical hospital that provides a substantial range of surgical procedures for both adults and children, housed within a state-of-the-art medical facility featuring 4 operating theatres, 20 day stay and recovery bays, 20 inpatient ensuite rooms, consulting suites, a pre-admission clinic, and a full commercial kitchen. Signage was expertly brought to life by SignFX using my brand guidelines as reference.
